❓ Frequently Asked Questions
To add a new transaction:
- Tap the purple + button (FAB) at the bottom right of the Dashboard
- Select the transaction type: Income, Expense, or Transfer
- Enter the amount using the calculator input
- Select an account and category
- Optionally add notes and change the date/time
- Tap Save to add the transaction
To set up budgets:
- Go to the Budgets tab from the bottom navigation
- Navigate to the desired month using the arrow buttons
- Enter budget amounts for each expense category
- Budgets auto-save as you type
- Use the Copy button to copy budgets from the previous month
To create a backup:
- Open the side drawer menu (hamburger icon)
- Tap Backup & Restore
- Tap Create Backup
- The backup file (.mbak) will be saved to your device
- You can share this file to cloud storage for safekeeping
Tip: Create regular backups, especially before major updates or device changes.
To restore from a backup:
- Open the side drawer menu
- Tap Backup & Restore
- Tap Restore from Backup
- Select the .mbak backup file from your device
- Confirm the restore operation
Warning: Restoring will replace all current data with the backup data.
Yes! MyBudget Tracker works 100% offline. All features are available without an internet connection:
- Add, edit, and delete transactions
- Manage accounts and categories
- Set and track budgets
- View analysis charts
- Create backups and export data
Your data is stored locally on your device and never requires a network connection.
To change your currency:
- Open the side drawer menu
- Go to Settings
- Tap Currency
- Select your currency from 170+ available options
- Choose symbol position (before or after amount)
To change the theme:
- Open the side drawer menu
- Go to Settings
- Tap Appearance or Theme
- Choose from Light, Dark, or System (auto)
The System option automatically follows your device's dark mode setting.
To delete data:
- Open the side drawer menu
- Tap Delete/Reset Data
- Choose what to delete:
- Delete Transactions: Removes all transactions only
- Delete Budgets: Removes all budget data only
- Reset Everything: Deletes all data including accounts and categories
- Confirm the action
Warning: Deleted data cannot be recovered unless you have a backup.

- All data is stored locally on your device only
- We do not collect any personal information
- We do not have access to your financial data
- There are no analytics, ads, or tracking
- The app works completely offline
